Fuse tips: more time to spare

The bot sets a hard target on every fuse. These are the habits that close the gap.

1. Burn everywhere you are allowed to

Full speed crosses a fuse several times faster than a crawl. Every moment you are not holding costs time, so hold by default and let go only where a hazard asks for it.

2. Look at the whole route first

The clock waits for your first touch. Use that moment to find every gust and every fork before you start. A gust right after a cut is the classic trap: jump at full speed, then let go at once.

3. Let go as late as you dare before a gust

You need to be down to a crawl when the spark enters the wind. Speed falls from full to a crawl in under half a second, so a late release saves a lot of time. Too late, and you arrive hot and blow out.

4. Hands off inside the wind

Any touch inside a gust blows the spark out, even a short tap. Wait until it is behind you, then press straight away on the way out.

5. Arrive at cuts at full speed

You need about half a second of holding to reach full speed. If a cut follows a slow stretch, start holding early.

6. Read forks early

The sign says hold or let go. On a let-go fork you only need to be released at the split itself, so a short tap off is enough.

7. Choose your sparks

Hot sparks before and after gusts are free if your timing is sharp. Drifting sparks cost time, so on a tight day skip them and chase the clock.

8. Relight without fear

Fizzles are counted, but they do not end your day. Learn the route on the first tries, notice where you lost time, then go for a clean run. Most players need a few relights before the fuse feels easy, and the result only keeps your first firework.
